Who we are
Who we are
We believe structure
and creativity can
co-exist, and that’s where we do our
best work.
Meet the founder
Anitah Kumar is a forward-thinking lawyer with a strong focus on intellectual property, privacy, technology, arts and media law. Anitah holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Justice from the Queensland University of Technology and has years experience working across litigation, technology, not-for-profit and arts law. This breadth of experience means she brings a unique blend of legal expertise and creative insight to her work.
“My journey into law has been shaped by creativity and community. Alongside my legal career, I’ve worked as a professional musician and creative producer, served as an advisor for start-up ventures and a board member for not-for-profit organisations. These experiences gave me a front-row seat to the challenges, as well as the needs, of mission-driven organisations, start-ups, and creative businesses. Ultimately, moving between the legal and creative worlds has taught me to think differently.”
Our story
Tempo Legal was born from a desire to work with the kind of clients and matters we can connect with - giving organisations, creatives, and entrepreneurs the confidence to grow, innovate, and share their work with the world.
The firm was created to bridge the gap between technical legal advice and people’s real-world needs. Today, we work with not-for-profits, startups, and creative ventures across Australia, offering practical, strategic, and forward-thinking legal solutions that reflect both the opportunities and the pressures of the sectors we know best.
Our story is still unfolding, but at its heart is a simple commitment: to protect what you’re building, so you can keep creating, growing and making an impact.
